Report

Name of the Activity: Collaborative Project

Evaluation: It was observed by school authorities that there is more to education and life experience than books. Looking to the need of an hour, a dedication arose to bring the newest in innovative curriculum and class offerings in addition to their academics. So a step was taken to initiate Collaborative Project activity exclusively for class VIII. The outcomes of these projects were - multi-cultural understanding; foster teamwork, civic responsibility and team management. It was a major move towards strengthening global awareness. It provided students with an opportunity to work together and learn from each other without meeting each other face-to-face.
The topics were mutually decided by the project coordinators of both the countries, allotted and mapped on one to one basis for exchanging the information online.  After the exchange of information analysis of the entire study was done which was compiled in the form of final handwritten report and lastly made the power point presentation/skit and presented it before their peers, judges and teachers.

All these studies sufficed the proper building of child growth and nurture their hidden talent and groom the personality.

The students had gone through Interaction Based Projects, Post Card Exchange activity and Survey Based Projects.

*   The students had put in their best efforts to make a creative hand written report.
*  As last year the idea of presenting the projects in a novel manner in the form of skits was introduced, this idea was implemented on a wider scale this year. Students worked enthusiastically and performed skits/plays with 100% participation of all the students in a group on 25 projects. This enhanced their team co-ordination and provided them the stage exposure on a small scale.
* The evaluators appreciated the creative abilities demonstrated by the students while performing the skits.
*   These projects will be beneficial for the students in their future as:
-  These provide students the opportunity to explore the world around them & share their views.  This makes learning enjoyable & interesting.
-  The students exchange an extensive range of information & a lot of facts, which otherwise is not possible in day to day curriculum.
- These projects provide them a platform to enhance their computer proficiency and they become techno-savvy, which is the demand of the today’s world.
Overall it was a well-appreciated endeavor of the students.
Students performed very effectively and efficiently in a group with a great team spirit. They showed commendable coordination and confidence in delivering the presentation. The skits/speeches/presentations of students showed their hard work and thorough knowledge of the topic.  Students were quite enthusiastic to present their work and share their knowledge with their peers. Most of the students were excited for their presentation and performed very well but a few need to put some more efforts to give their best. The whole project enhanced their attitude (dealing with the foreign partners), communication (writing mails to their foreign partners and of course presentation in front of evaluators) and thinking skills(online exchange of information and its analysis).

During the whole process of communication through epals community, the students at times found difficulties in mailing their partners because of limited capacity (2MB) of the mail box and also the webmail account gets blocked if the previous mails are not deleted after a certain limit and thereafter  the mails are neither received nor send by the same mail account.  The subsequent solution taken out was that the students were asked to save their documents in a said folder and from here these mails were sent by the coordinator to the foreign administrator and the similar process was followed by the foreign collaborator.

In a way these projects helped in making world a global village, well knit exchange of ideas and enhanced their knowledge beyond textbooks. It provided students the opportunity to explore the world around them & share their views
These projects broaden the outlook of students and help them to develop research-based study.
